About the Artist

Since
childhood Evonne has been blessed with the talent of reading the energy of
others and her surroundings. Over
the years she has nurtured that talent as well as the talent of painting. She has been painting for most of her life and graduated from the University of Santa Barbara with a degree in Art. After graduating from UCSB, she continued her
education and received her teaching credential. She taught elementary school for several years until in 2007 when diagnosed with Crohn’s disease, an autoimmune disease affecting the
digestive system, she had to leave the classroom. Since 2007, Evonne has had to completely change
her lifestyle in order to have a chance to function as a human being. Since there is no cure for Crohn’s at this
time, doctors put her on medication that sometimes relieved symptoms but did
not heal her body. In an attempt to feel like she had a chance for life, she looked towards
alternative and complimentary healing which included yoga and meditation. It was through this process in which she experienced healing. She continued her
practice and incorporated mandalas into her meditation in order to help her
busy mind concentrate while letting her spirit listen to what it needed to
hear. At first, Evonne’s mandalas
helped her in her own journey and growth.
Then she began to share them with her friends and loved ones. Since then, she has realized the potential
healing capacities of the mandala and wants to be able to help others in their
own spiritual growth and journey. Evonne is married with one child and currently
lives in Southern California.
